The documentary film, Etched in Glass: The Legacy of Steve Ross had its first New York screening recently at the Tribeca Screening Room in Manhattan. Following the screening, the full house audience, engaged in a lengthy discussion with film producers Roger Lyons and Tony Bennis. The screening was hosted by the Yad Vashem organization in New York and coordinated by Jill Goltzer, who moderated the Q&A. The audience was mostly on the younger side – and featured numerous people whose parents or grandparents were Holocaust Survivors. Also in the audience was Tony’s sister, Vali Bennis. The Tribeca screening is likely to lead to other New York showings. The Tribeca Screening room is part of the Tribeca Film Center, a complex that was developed partly by Robert Di Niro, that includes office space for indie film makers and is the home of the Tribeca Film Festival. “Tribeca” stands for Tri-angle Be-low Ca-nal Street.
