Tony Bennis Producer Director – New York – Los Angeles – Boston
I grew up in New York City. In Manhattan – just off of Broadway. Have an older brother and sister who are twins. Passions as a kid included dogs (we didn’t have one) – studying dinosaurs – looking at construction vehicles – building things with an erector set – eating and making pizza – playing and watching sports – riding on the New York City subway – walking through museums – going to contemporary and old movies – taking the Staten Island ferry as an adventure – charting the top 40 hits on the radio – engaging in snowball battles – and going to school. I’ve lived in New York City, Los Angeles, and Boston.
Tony Bennis Media Producer and Director
I began working in the media as a sports and news assistant at WBZ-TV 4 in Boston. Then I was hired as an Assistant Director at WBZ. Later I worked on a late night talk show at WCVB-TV in Boston. I was a Program Director for Time-Warner Cable and then for Cablevision. Together with Jimmy Myers – I created “Sports Exchange with Jimmy Myers“ the sports entertainment television show that aired on national cable and then in broadcast syndication. I served as a VP of Marketing for Commonwealth Promotion working on the College Fest Way More Weekend project. I then worked as a Marketing Director for the Phoenix Media/Communications Group – a newspaper, radio, and internet company. Later I served as Executive Producer for the morning drive radio news talk show on WILD-AM 1090, a Radio One station. Later I launched Synergy Media Partners, a media company that produces films, documentaries, television shows, music videos, commercials – and directs marketing and public relations campaigns.
